The Parish Council's Position

 

The Parish Council are opposed to the suggested large scale solar farm and are working with Block East Pye Solar (BESP) and neighbouring Parish Councils to assert as much influence as possible.

Many residents have asked about the proposals and how they can get involved. This page has been put together and will be updated to assist.

How can you get involved?

Respond to the Consultation

​

Many of you visited the recent consultation exhibitions organised by East Pye Solar (EPS) when their staff were unable to answer some of even the most basic questions about their proposed scheme. Where clarity was sought, the exhibition staff were in many cases not able to give complete answers, giving the impression that the proposals were incomplete.

 

Block East Pye Solar (BEPS) has now submitted a very comprehensive objection to the scheme and we urgently need your voice added to theirs and others who feel that this development is neither justified or welcomed by our community. We’re hoping that over 1,000 individuals will submit objections and with your help we can do it!

 

What You Need to Do:

• Download the template letter and send it:

    (Make sure you receive an acknowledgement—if not, it won’t count!)

  • Or by post to: FREEPOST East Pye Solar (No stamp needed)
     

• Deadline: Wednesday 6th August
   

• Personalise it: add your own concerns or any relevant photos if you'd like to, although this isn't essential
   

• Don’t forget: include your name and email at the end of the letter
   

• Everyone in your household can submit an objection
   

• Share this: forward it to friends, neighbours and anyone in the community
   

• Help offline: support those without internet access or who need help with tech

Parish Council's Response

​

The Parish Council have submitted responses to East Pye Solar as well as writing to the Planning Inspectorate (the decision makers for this application), Ben Goldsborough MP and Planning Officers at Norfolk County Council and South Norfolk Council.

In addition the Parish Council has had some signs printed to line the route of the Boudicca Way Ultra that is taking place on Saturday 19 July 2025, it's hoped this will raise public awareness beyond the villages involved.
